July 7 Jan Flaska, Can Religion Save the Environment?

Jan is the founder of The New England Independent School Spiritual Council, consisting of over sixty independent school educators, members of affiliated organizations, and other interested citizens who take an interest in the ethical and spiritual welfare of the New England independent school family. He is presently the Dean of 11th and 12th grade at Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, MA.
July 14 Phoebe Phelps, The Ecological Self, A Musing
What is the Ecological Self? What is today’s ecological crisis requiring of our humanity? What personal, ethical, social and spiritual transformations are we being called to today? These musings will form the basis of our discussion as we consider together how this endangered Earth itself is mandating changes in our values, our aspirations, and even our very identities.
Phoebe Phelps, MA, DMin., is an Eco-Psychologist and Spiritual Director in Orland, ME. She has a background in Transpersonal Psychology, Matthew Fox’s Creation Spirituality, and the East/West inter-religious dialogue.
